I arrived in Beijing two days before the rest of the group, and I love it thus far! During my first day, I had the opportunity to visit the National Art Museum of China and explore one of the most famous shopping Malls in Beijing. At the art museum, I viewed prints that were created by carved wood, which is prominent in Chinese history. In addition, I saw a photography exhibit by Pedro Meyer. He captured so many beautiful moments, and even recreated some of them for the exhibit. I hope that his work gains more popularity!
In the mall, I was able to eat at a Hotpot restaurant and do some shopping! The mall was ginormous and it took quite a while for us to get around. We went to the first Dunkin’ Donuts in China and bought some donuts to take home!
