I had way more fun today then I expected. I was looking forward to the time we get to ship and explore the down town areas. I dd not think that I was going to buy too much being that I am not a souvenir saver. I also only exchanged $70 at the back of America the day before because it was the only cash I had on me at the time. My how I thought wrong.
Our first stop was a shopping strip filled with cute small stores. The area reminded me of a New York Street. Stores, bars, and restaurants lined both sides of the road. There I searched for a gift for my younger cousin but everything was very expensive. Especially for my low budget.
The second stop proved to be so much better. I immediately was overwhelmed with the vast amount of vendors and their English skills that allowed them to try and sell to you with every step you took. The first thing I saw was makeup- my weakness. I knew I had to barter because the vendor hikes up the prices ridiculously but I’m VERY bad at this. I had to employ the help of chi chi who was a master.
I’m very upset at myself that I did not know there was an upstairs full of bags and suitcases. I spent my last dime downstairs. I was excited for the bags so I’m very sad I couldn’t buy any. I wish we could go back soon.
Lunch was proceeded by some fun karaoke sung by Cheech, me, and Nicole. Next was an AMAZING kung fu show. I didn’t think it would be at a theatre and have a story line. It was so beautiful. Now rest up for the great wall tomorrow!
