China day #1

If there is one thing I’m good at, it’s falling asleep anywhere I want, whenever I want. This skill does not prove fruitful in the classroom, or in pretty much any building that isn’t my college residential hall, although it’s very useful while on moving forms of transportation. I slept for much of the first flight and somehow, even through part of the second. I attribute this to my serious exhaustion from gallivanting NYC and from being sick. One of the Chinese kids visiting, Chris’ roommate, came to America seriously sick and I’m guessing I got whatever he had from him. I’m not complaining, but it is a bit annoying to get sick just at the start of a new and exciting adventure. Anyway, after arriving, I promptly fell asleep in my dorm room unintentionally. Then I woke up, took a shower, and we went to meet everyone at this indoor market. I didn’t buy any clothes or bags, although I would love to pick up some pretty scarves at some point, but I did buy lots of hot tea. We all ate dinner together at the market and then went onto see a Kung Fu performance. The performance was really cool, although I was more impressed with the building and how cool it looked on the inside and on the outside. The building was red all over and looked grid-locked. I have attached a photo since I thought it looked so cool. We went straight back to the dorms after seeing the Kung Fu performance and I am very much ready to get some sleep before going to The Great Wall tomorrow. Sleep tight, everybody!
