National Museum of China & National Centre for the Performing Arts

Today we went to the Nat’l Museum of China. After going through security and drinking my from my water bottles to prove it was not harmful or poisonous, we split up to go explore the various exhibits.

Eventually, I was drawn to the Ancient China exhibit. Pieces from the Han and Qing dynasty, still in good condition, were amazing to view. Their musical instruments were mostly precussion sets made of either stone or metal.

There were also figurines of troops from ancient China. For artwork over 2000+ years old, the craftsmanship still stands.

You can see so many hand made details in each piece.
After the museum we walked over to the National Centre for Performing Arts. There, we went on a guided tour of some of the operas held at the theater. My favorite one was called Der Flegende Hollander.

We also saw miniature models of the stages of each opera. At the top floor of the Centre, we went through one last exhibit about the actual opera house. It was interesting to see where each type of marble floor was from. The wood paneling was from Brazilian rosewood.
