798 Art Zone

Today we went to the 798 Art Zone. There we saw many galleries of sculptures, paintings, and other forms of art. The first gallery was extremely detailed and precise. Pieces were made from metal and then some sort of colored glaze was poured on top. After we all split up, some of us went to look for a tattoo parlor. After getting lost and mislead by a police officer, we walked by someone with tattoos on his arm and showed him a translation of “tattoo shop?” from English to Chinese on our phone. He was standing right outside of the shop and pointed for us to walk through the door. The entrance to the tattoo parlor had a smoke machine running and fog all over the floor. Once inside, we were given a tour of the shop and saw both a Chinese and Japanese style tattoo parlor. When we finally were able to show our designs that we wanted to get tattooed, we were told it was around 1500 ¥ / hour. For the small tattoos we wanted, we figured it was not worth that price and left the shop to go eat lunch and then rejoin our group.
