Today, we had our last full class of Mandarin. It was another struggling day as my own brain is jam packed with words I barely understand from the past four days of study and class. Afterwards though, we took a nice stroll down an art street called “798”. I have never heard of it before but apparently it is very famous because many artists live there and do projects there. There was art and sculptures all over, out in the open or setup for display. It was a neat experience as I do not know of any places in the United States that allow for that sort of activity. There is a low amount of vehicle traffic through the streets that run through that district. I think the low amount of traffic creates low amounts of maintenance, like cleaning of streets and buildings, as everything had a worn down, rustic feel. Overall, it was a very peculiar section of Beijing.
