Today we witnessed the beginning of the 2nd match of the finals for Go. For many of us witnessing this high profile match was our first exposure to the game at all. Luckily we were able to spend the rest of the day learning to appreciate the game and ultimately be able to get a round started.
The game is fundamentally very simple. Surround the opponent to take their territory and the person with the most territory at the end wins. In reality the game is rooted heavily in long term strategy. This is why military and political leaders are supposedly so fond of it. I personally found the game very fun and am looking forward to playing more!
