When I last was on the Great Wall I did not get a great experience. Because of the rain there was not a great view of the surrounding region. My experience today was vastly different. Blue skies, an air quality index of less than 60, and a cool breeze made for some phenomenal sights.
The views from the top of the wall were simply breathtaking. It truly made the 1200 stair climb to the wall from the bus well worth the trip. Even though by the end of the climb it didn’t feel like it would be worth it.
On top of a great experience at the wall we were able to see the Olympic park where the 2008 Olympics were held and the 2022 games will be held. We even witnessed some construction there as they were getting ready for the 2022 games. The weather really allowed us to get a great view of the grounds and the great artwork there.
