Today after class, we went to a museum about Chinese culture, and then a Chinese theater and opera museum. My favorite part was the exhibit on ancient money. A younger counselor named Lindy helped to explain the differences in the ancient money, for example, why some money looked like a knife. It was all made of bronze, I can’t imagine livi
ng back then and carrying it around with me all day. Then again, I probably wouldn’t have had any money to carry. When I saw the coins with a square circle, I was reminded of when I was very young. I had used to think that China still used those bronze coins! I was such a dumb kid. When I told Lindy that story, I think she agreed.
After that museum, we went to the theater museum. Even without seeing any of the art inside, I loved the architecture of the building. It looked like a glass egg and was surrounded by a shallow moat. Maybe it keeps people out.
