The Chinese National Museum is truly a wonderful museum. Not only do they have tons of art spanning Chinese history including: ancient coins, period clothing, and jade sculptures; they also have a large collection of gifts collected from around the world. These worldly gifts are what I found to be most interesting in this museum. An entire exhibit was dedicated to African art, while another held the gifts that State dignitaries gave to the state department of the Peoples Republic of China as acts of friendship. U.S. President Gerald Ford gifted a bald eagle figurine that was on display, while many Asian countries presented art pieces varying from chess sets to daggers.
