Galleries galore! We visited the 798 Art Zone today, which meant that we got to see so many works of creativity, from statues of elven centaurs and astronaut cows to paintings of people animated people with huge rose-colored eyes. The sky was gray and it rained all day long, making each gallery seem that much more of a bright and welcome shelter from the rather gloomy weather outside. Walking down the whimsical streets that made up the 798 Art Zone, I popped my head into every gallery I came across. Doing so allowed me to get a taste of countless styles of art, which left me feeling as though I had learned something new. While I may not have opened up a textbook or memorized some trivia, I was exposed to physical manifestations of creative expression, which really expanded my outlook on daily matters.
That said, my favorite piece of art was hands down a display of red dinosaurs in three cages stacked atop one another.
I really liked this display of dinosaurs, because it made me think of how these prehistoric beasts once roamed the very ground I was standing on. They also made me think of the Jurassic Park films, as they were in cages, and my wild imagination really made me hear some snarls and growls coming from these dinosaurs’ mouths as I snapped some photos of them!
Despite the unpleasant weather today, I had an awesome time exploring the 798 Art Zone, and I managed to stay dry in the poncho Jenny lent me, so I really can’t say anything but this: I hope tomorrow is just as fantastic as today was!
