Monuments and Museums

This morning, after a hurried breakfast the Chinese and American students piled into the bus again and began our journey. We started our day off with tales of love and romance. One of the students told us about the Chinese holiday similar to Valentines Day, QiXi. Then the American students exchanged our version of love stories.

After that that we arrived in Times Square to see the Rockefeller Center. We walked among various flags and took photos in front of them. We even walked inside a Legos store to build a few images.

Then we got back in the bus and drove to the United Nations building. We only stayed there for a few minutes to take photos and then we went to another Chinese restaurant for lunch.

After lunch, we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to get a look at ancient Chinese culture. We saw lots of fine robes, dishes, wardrobes, and many other royal objects from several dynasties. We also visited the American cultures so we could compare the two for our group project. We saw a lot of differences between the two cultures and it made me very excited to go to China so that I can see the differences first hand!
