Last Day S1- Leaving with Precious Memories and Laughter

Today, they are leaving! All sixteen of them. The week passed by so fast, yet, in this short timespan, it already felt like we’ve known them forever.  We have surely become attached to this cute and adorable bunch.
Quiet Lily was taking pictures of every teacher on the last day with a small mischievous smile on her face. Shy Becky has become more outgoing and expressive, but still sometimes duck her head down when embarrassed. Silent Martin was not so silent after all. Joking and laughing loudly with everyone in the group the night before they left to head to DC. A huge change from when he first arrived to NYC a mere week ago.
Jackson, our dear motivational speaker and OneRepublic fan, who jokes with the teachers and the kids asked us if we are going to DC with them. Oh, how we wish to join them. He really do brighten up the room with his easy smile and charming personality.

And Robby, our trusty translator, who helps the other kids translate when they are too shy to speak in English. We will definitely miss this studious fellow!

Then there is dear courageous Penny, who pushed and slipped her way though thousands of people to the front of the stage at the OneRepublic concert to take pictures. That takes determination girl! (Not to mention she was the first one to get a local resident to fill out the voter’s registration form during our volunteer event.)

We will miss each and every one of them dearly. Model in the making Linda (who poses with such sass) and sweet Jerry, and all the students will have a special place in our hearts.

We wish them a safe and fun trip and hope to see them again in the future. 🙂
Now, let’s prepare for our second adventure.
