Monday, August 8

The day started bright and early with a 9am bus ride into the city. We stopped at Rockefeller Center, and were given one hour to explore. Together, Jean and I led a group of Chinese students around fifth avenue. We visited the Comcast building, NBC store, Lego store, and the Nintendo store. We took an adorable picture with Donkey Kong. Afterwards, we made a brief stop at the United Nations building for a group photo before heading to lunch. Thank goodness, it was not another buffet. When we finished, we headed to the metropolitan museum of art. Spending four hours there was a bit much. In my opinion, two would have been plenty. We focused on the American Art and the Asian Art sections. When I compare the two, I would have to say that I liked the Asian Art section much better on a whole. But my favorite pictures were located in the American Art section. I love the beautiful landscape pictures that they had. Some of them spanned the entire wall, and completely enraptured me in their intricate details. The day ended with the group project, which was our final bonding time with the Chinese students. In the end, we were all excited to be finished with the project and get to bed.
