Cheap Thrills!

Being fueled by excitement, the students woke bright and early. Today was the day we got to see Sia at Good Morning America! At five a.m. the lounge was flushed in a sea of bright blue t-shirts accompanied by a few yawns but a lot of smiles! The students munched on two dozens of assorted Dunkin Donuts for breakfast.

Waking at the crack of dawn seemed to hit the students (and counselors) while traveling to Central Park- a few naps were taken- but after exiting the subway station everyone was filled with energy.

After waiting in a line that seemed like forever, we made it into the stadium.  A few selfies and videos later, the concert was off to a start.. We sang and danced along to the four songs, including Sia’s new song “Cheap Thrills “, then headed back to the dorms for much need naps.

Although it felt like a full day already, we headed back to NYU for our classes. The hit class of the day was on American Sign Language, taught by Lauren. The students learned about the history of ASL and even learned the alphabet and numbers. Because they picked up the new language so well, the students competes in many ASL games.

With such a long day, it was ended with a night’s long rest.
