Today was another early morning. I guess I’m getting better at waking up early. The dorms here are nice, the air conditioning is a definite saving grace. Breakfast was a little surprising, I was not expecting the fried bread, but it was really good. Then, we left to the Summer Palace. I thought the background history on it was very interesting. I really seem to like Chinese history. When we got off the bus, it was extremely hot, and it wasn’t even 11am. As we entered the Summer Palace, I was impressed by all the paining on the architecture. The further and further we went, the more intricate the designs seemed to get. It was beyond beautiful. I would have appreciated it more if it had not been so hot. My shirt was completely soaked by the time we visited the Buddha Temple. As I reached the top I thought I was dying, the exercise and the heat was all too much. Luckily after we made it down the mountain, we walked among the trees. When we sat down for lunch by the water, a slight breeze cooled us off. That felt nice. By the time we got back to the bus, all of us were dead tired and beyond hot.
