The day started out with the typical breakfast that I had become accustomed to: fried bread and egg. I am happy to day that the rest of the day was uphill from that. We got on the bus and began the two hour journey to the Great Wall of China. I was filled with nervous excitement; so much so that I had to force myself to focus on Eric, our tour guide, as he gave us a brief history of China’s world leaders. Once we got to the Wall, I knew it was game time. Eric have us an our and a half the make it up and down in time for lunch. That hour and a half was the most trying time of my life. Lauren and I were really struggling. we just had to take it step by step, hold back the tears, and think of the view at the top of the hill. I could describe the feeling of reaching the top, but in all honesty, it’s something that you have to experience for yourself. I’m very proud of us, though. There was a point where I didn’t think I could make it, but I did. Now I can say that I’ve climbed one of the 7 wonders of the world!
