Today was a wonderful day as we learned more about Chinese Culture first hand. We were taught some history of calligraphy, tai ji, and also how to make a bracelet from Chinese knots (which were square knots and hallaburton knots.) It was so nice to actually learned some tai chi, I had always been interested to learn but I have never had the chance until now. The motions of the teachers were very impressive. The coordination of their entire bodies was fascinating. As we progress through the motions, I was having a hard time keeping coorination between my hands and my feet, along with holding a proper center of gravity. For the calligraphy, we had to have a shortened class so we only learned one symbol. As we were taught, we were told calligraphy was an art form. Many of the symbols were extremely complex and needed much skill to complete properly. It was a very enjoyable topic to learn. For the bracelet making, I made my bracelet way too large, so I will need to figure something out for that. Overall, it was another splendid day.
