As great as it is here in China, I miss my Mom so yes I am glad to go home. But while I was here things were fun. Today we went to an arts house and were taught about Agila wood, Chinese knots, calligraphy, and tai chi. The agila carvings were beautiful, and learning about this strange sap was very interesting. Most of the items we saw were made out of more than one piece of agila wood, but it was impossible for me to tell that. When we were learning how to make a bracelet from Chinese knots I was very happy. Mom and I used to make this kind of jewelry together when I was younger. To do it again was both soothing and nostalgic. After that came lunch which was divine. For dessert they served us moon cake. Although it’s early, since we won’t be around for the autumn festival they were kind enough to let us try moon cake. My favorite was the one without egg. After lunch we doodledo with calligraphy, and I say doodle because that’s what mine look like. Finally we ended the day with Tai Chi, which was also soothing in its own way. This was a really good way to end the trip and I look forward to my future travels.
