Chinese Art House

Today we went to a Chinese traditional art house, and I finally got to learn some Chinese calligraphy! It was a short lesson from a calligraphy master, who taught us from a Chinese poem about the moon festival. I couldn’t write the whole poem, so I just practiced a couple characters. I’m keeping my best practice sheet to bring back home!

We did Tai Chi too, with real Tai Chi masters. They were all dressed in traditional clothes, and one of them even had a real beard. I learned a sequence of moves that I can use for self defense, and also for punching. It made me feel like a waterbender. I wish I wasn’t getting sick right now, otherwise I would have improved my fighting skills.

The lunch at the art house was amazing, especially the pork belly cubes. Pork belly is my favorite cut of meat. I realized that one of the cubes was just fat covered in sauce, and I felt ashamed because I liked it.
